🧡 Volunteer Spotlight: Lee Warren Goes the Extra Mile

We’re proud to shine our Volunteer Spotlight on Lee Warren, one of the incredibly dependable volunteers who helps keep The Corner Table’s Backpack Program moving...literally!

Throughout the school year, Lee serves as a dedicated Backpack Program driver, delivering bags of food to schools across all three of Catawba County’s school systems. Each week, he makes sure these bags reach the children who are counting on them to have food to eat over the weekend.

Lee’s commitment doesn’t stop when the school year does! During the summer months, he helps deliver food bags to libraries throughout Catawba County, making sure children continue to have access to nutritious food even when school is out.

Lee is always willing to do a little more. When we have food donations that need to be picked up, Lee is often ready to jump in and help there, too. Whether he’s loading up food, delivering hundreds of Backpack bags, or making an extra trip when we need him, Lee is someone we know we can count on.

His work may happen behind the scenes, but the impact of that work is anything but small. Every bag Lee delivers represents food on a child’s table, one less worry for a family, and a reminder that our community cares.

The Backpack Program is incredibly grateful for Lee’s reliability, generosity, flexibility, and willingness to serve wherever he is needed. Volunteers like Lee are truly the heart of what we do. They show us that sometimes making a big difference simply means being willing to show up, lend a hand, and keep going.
