👑 Fighting Childhood Hunger: Meet Courtney & Crystal Bass

Behind every BackPack Program food bag is a team of people who care deeply about making sure children have enough to eat. This month, we are shining the spotlight on an incredible mother and daughter who are putting that care into action: Courtney and Crystal Bass!

On many Sundays when volunteer groups gather at The Corner Table’s BackPack Warehouse, Courtney and her mom, Crystal, are there too. Together, they pack weekend food bags for children in our schools, prepare snack bags for NC Schools, and restock shelves so our warehouse is ready to serve children throughout our community.

But for Courtney, this work is about more than volunteering. It is personal.

As Royalty USA North Carolina Jr. Teen, Courtney has chosen fighting childhood hunger as her platform. Rather than simply talking about an issue she cares about, Courtney is putting her platform into action. She spends her time serving in our warehouse and has even donated snacks to help fill the bags that go home with children experiencing food insecurity.

And beside her every step of the way is her mom, Crystal.

Because Courtney relies on her mom for transportation, their trips to The Corner Table have become something much more meaningful. They have become opportunities to serve together, work side by side, and make a difference in the lives of local children.

There is something incredibly special about watching a mother support her daughter’s passion while joining her in the work.

Courtney and Crystal remind us that making a difference does not require a title, a crown, or a special occasion. It starts with a willing heart and a desire to help.

Courtney, we are so proud of the way you are using your platform to bring attention to childhood hunger and, even more importantly, to roll up your sleeves and do something about it. We cannot wait to see where your heart for service takes you!

And Crystal, thank you for encouraging Courtney, supporting her passion, and serving right alongside her.
